Just had the most flawless solo meal at Louis in Spinningfields. Started with oysters – briny, fresh, served ice-cold with just the right mignonette. Then the branzino croccante: perfectly crisp skin, flaky white flesh, lemon-herb notes singing through every bite. Paired with a side of wilted spinach and roasted garlic – simple, buttery, seasoned to perfection. Drinks? Kicked off with a Garibaldi – bright, bittersweet Campari-orange punch. The bar staff were incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, guiding me through the champagne list and even pouring a couple of tasters to help me decide. Settled on Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle – pure elegance, complex, and celebratory. Service was seamless, atmosphere pure glamour. No fuss – just great food, great drinks, and that old-school charm. Louis doesn’t miss. Already planning the return.

A hidden gem in Manchester! Never expect there can be a place with such atmosphere in Manchester city centre. The service is flawless, and rib eye steak is great. The chicken is a recommended item on menu but not as special as expected, still good. The mac and cheese is very balanced and is the best one that we’ve ever had. The live music is so good and the choices of song created a nice vibe to the night. Will definitely go for a second time.

Finally I got into Louis to try it out after wanting to go for so long. Firstly we will start about the arrival, staff are on point. Some of the best staff I’ve ever seen in Manchester in fact, the swagger and enthusiasm they have is remarkable. Got to my seat as the DJ was on and the place was absolutely booming, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, I loved this place as soon as I sat down. Tables aren’t as cramped as people have said previously, I found it actually very relaxing once the DJ was off and the piano player was on and he did a wonderful job and it’s great that they give them breaks In between songs, Incase you didn’t want to talk whilst he was playing, attention to detail is key in this place. For anybody wondering about drinks, it’s what you’d expect, about £15 for a double vodka and lemonade which isn’t too bad, I didn’t bother looking at the drinks menu too much but it isn’t publicly online so I thought I’d share some info. Now let’s move onto the food which is the main controversy about this place and I do tend to agree that the quality isn’t the best which is why I didn’t give this place 5 stars even though I really wanted too. The 3 meatballs for £22 is abysmal.. I could understand and happily pay that price if they were the best meatballs and absolutely huge but the scroungey little portion that comes and the fact that they were really tough was really disappointing. On the contrary the mac and cheese balls again portion of 3 but for £16.. they were out of this world, wow wow wow probably the best thing I’ve tasted in a while so much so that I had to get a second portion. Onto the mains, the wagyu burger I was dying to try. I have mixed feelings on it, yes it was huge, yes the flavour was nice but I found it to be really greasy or maybe it wasn’t grease but it had a sheen on it or something that was off putting and you could slightly taste whatever it was. The chicken parm is just your average chicken parm, nothing to write home about, it’s nice but gets soggy way too quick. Overall, I loved my experience, it’s a place I’d love to drink at, just not to eat at unfortunately. I would like to note that the door staff are just wonderful and even giving me an umbrella when it was raining is just perfect, this place reminds me of some place you’d see in Gotham city with the penguin and two face inside.

Me and my partner bobbed in here on the off chance for some drinks on Monday and had a really lovely couple of hours at the bar being very well looked after by Kyri and Liam (thank you both so much!) I am very specific with my margaritas but the two I had were really well made - I went for a 6 on the chilli margarita and it was perfection. We would reccomend Louis to anyone wanting a really lovely atmosphere, great bar staff and live music (we didn't catch the name of the pianist but they were very good). Unfortunately I can't comment on the food as it was a drinks trip only but all the more to do another visit . P.s the Bergamot Limoncello is a must try!

Walking into Louis took us right back to our time in NYC! The speakeasy vibe of the place paired with live singers/bands is perfect for a lush girls night or even a lively date spot, service from Ali was 10/10 with his recommendations, we went for the (was undercooked) , crispy potatoes & enjoyed a baked New York cheesecake kindly on the house. Mocktails were okay went for the No-groni & the strawberry lemonade. They do operate a no photos policy due to 'high profile' clientele which I don't think you'd get much of in the middle of Manchester, but we did capture some photos of our memorable night. I would go back to try more of the food & to enjoy another nice night out as it is something different than the other restaurants in Manchester.

i booked louis for my 25th birthday and had such a lovely experience! the venue is absolutely stunning, the food was delicious, and the live performers were incredible. our waiter, ibby, was so sweet and really made my night feel special (even though they forgot my birthday champagne ). there was a small overcharge on the bill, but it was sorted straight away, so no complaints there. overall, a beautiful place for a special occasion i’d definitely recommend and would 100% go back again!
